    As the data privacy specialist, you will act as the primary data privacy compliance officer supporting our main processing operations.

    You will support our colleagues embed data privacy controls and processes and reporting data privacy compliance.
    You will also be responsible for rolling out key data privacy compliance initiatives across Accelya.

    Reporting to the Group DPO, this role will also work alongside the Director of Data Governance to support the process business owner community comply with their obligations under GDPR.

    The individual filling this role should be comfortable with hand holding individuals to drive through data privacy best practice, but also providing challenge and gaining buy in with business leaders.

    What will you do? Drive forward key global privacy projects across Accelya
    Assist the DPO rollout Accelya's Privacy Management System (PIMS) and identify and implement additional local regulatory requirements as applicable

    Working with the Compliance and Information Security teams, assess compliance to Accelya's PIMs annually, and provide summary reporting to the Group DPO and monitor exception remediation plans.

    Develop formal and informal relationships with key business stakeholders, including the chairing of local data protection steercos. Drive a 'privacy first' culture at management and operational level.
    Support the delivery of global privacy and data privacy governance projects and drive the local data protection improvement programme.
    Provide practical solutions and expertise to help business units implement the Global Data Protection Policy.

    Respond to data breaches, DSRs, near misses, outstanding audit items, RFPs, address root causes and provide appropriate tailored training and guidance.

    Monitor the effectiveness of global privacy training campaigns.

    Develop deep knowledge of local products and software delivery practices to embed privacy by design and default and rollout supplementary specialist training where applicable.

    Promotion of the privacy and compliance teams as enablers of business, adding value and trust to our business relationships.

    Working within the Privacy team to inform stakeholders and employees within Accelya of any changes to applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR.

    Support the Group DPO as required.
    What do you need to know? Good understanding of how information security impacts data privacy and IT risk
    Good knowledge of the software development cycle and cloud hosting
    Risk-based approach to privacy compliance
    Ability to communicate complex and abstract ideas effectively. Use of multiple modes to convey ideas and solutions to different audiences and cultures.
    Good project management skills. Agile and proactive attitude and works to deadlines.
    Proven experience in GDPR compliance
    Preferred skills and Experience
    Experience working within and IT or software environment
    Experience leading privacy compliance projects across multiple departments in a large organisation
    Understanding of IT and information security risk frameworks
