    Oxford Nanopore Technologies is headquartered at the Oxford Science Park outside Oxford, UK, with satellite offices and a commercial presence in various global locations across the US, APAC, and Europe.

    Oxford Nanopore's sequencing platform is known for providing real-time analysis in scalable formats, capable of analyzing native DNA or RNA fragments of any length. The aim is to facilitate the analysis of any living organism, anywhere.

    We are searching for highly motivated individuals to join the Technical Services team as Field Applications Scientists responsible for specific regions within Latin (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Mediterranean countries). This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in human genomics and a commitment to customer service.

    This exciting role involves collaborating with a cross-functional team to offer technical expertise, training, and support for ONT products. The focus is on strengthening relationships with scientists to ensure the optimal application of our products in their research endeavors.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Providing front-line applications support to customers on all Nanopore sequencing workflow aspects, such as sample prep and sequencing.
    • Offering high-quality technical expertise and troubleshooting to customers.
    • Coordinating and conducting trainings at customer sites and attending conferences.
    • Collaborating with internal teams to support strategic customer accounts.
    • Assisting in onboarding and mentoring team members.

    What we're seeking...

    • A PhD degree or equivalent experience in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related fields.
    • Lab experience with a strong foundation in genetics, molecular biology, and related areas.
    • Experience with NGS platforms and in presenting or training other scientists.
    • Expertise in translational medicine and working with clinical accounts is advantageous.
    • Previous experience as a Field Application Scientist in Italy or Spain.
    • Fluency in Italian or Spanish and English is essential.
    • Strong technical competency and proficiency in data visualization and analysis techniques.
    • An approachable demeanor, dedication to customer satisfaction, and excellent problem-solving skills are vital.
    • Frequent travel (50-70%) is required for this role.
    • This role is based in Italy or Spain.
