Director, Strategic Finance Partner for GTC & CPS

About the team :

Join our dynamic team as a leader in Cloud Financial Management, a key discipline within the CCOE.

In this exciting role, you will report directly to the CFO and manage a team of 15 professionals, driving collaboration between technology, finance, and business teams to make data-driven spending decisions and maximize business value from the cloud.

As the central point for global cloud financial practices, including the Chargeback Process, Budgeting and Forecasting, Reporting, and Cost Optimization, you will have the opportunity to advise the business and drive financial success.

With the responsibility of obtaining business case approval, you will foster a cost-conscious culture at the intersection of Finance, Business, and Technology.

Roles and responsibilities :

Leadership Responsibility :

• As a Cloud Financial Management Strategy expert, you will have the opportunity to develop and set the direction for the Cloud Financial Management function, while also acting as a role model and mentor for less experienced peers.
• You will provide thought leadership for Cloud and be viewed as a trusted advisor by the Senior Leadership team.
• With a strong collaborative mindset, you will drive best practices and enforce the highest standards within the Tech community.
• Your role will include reviewing technology business cases and managing the financial stability of technical investments, in close collaboration with the CTO and investment committee.
• You will also be responsible for overall financial planning and analysis, budget planning, monthly planning, and forecast creation for the Technology Organization.
• Join our team and take on the challenge of accompanying the PLC from a financial analysis and controlling angle, while tracking and monitoring key investment projects owned by the Tech Organization.

Define, lead and Influence Cloud Financial Management strategy

• Lead and influence Cloud strategy based on financial models. Quantify benefits of running applications in the cloud
• Define strategy and process on Cloud operating budget financial management
• Drive and own all TCO / economic related activities for the CCOE
• Influence senior leaders the economic value proposition for cloud computing

Lead the development of guidelines and standards

• Define and develop standard TCO framework and dynamic analytic model to be utilized by CCOE
• Establish and implement strategy and guidelines for Reserve Instance, On-demand, and Spot instance, etc.
• Establish and implement guardrails to optimize cost performance
• Mature approach for alerting when costs are higher than expected within a billing cycle

Lead Financial Cost Modeling

• Mange costing model, including Cloud infrastructure cost, people, and training costs for CCOE
• Design cost and revenue models and forecasts for budget reviews
• Mature Cost Allocation Models and TCO Cost Estimating processes
• Assess the comparative costs of running applications on the Cloud

Financial oversight and management of cloud operating budgets and / or chargeback to customers

• Present business reviews to senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks on TCO topics
• Report to business application owners on cloud services consumption costs that will be charged back to the respective line of business / cost center
• Forecast Cloud costs to business application owners to support budgeting process

Lead Financial Tracking and monitoring

• Develop and administer reporting and tracking system of all TCO / economic related activities
• Partner with Cloud Architects to optimize cost performance and establish financial cloud suitability framework for migration opportunities
• Identify and leverage cost optimization opportunities

About the ideal candidate :

Required qualifications :

• Minimum 10-15 years of relevant work experience, including experience in an Agile / Scrum environment and with cloud computing technologies.
• Knowledge of technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, virtualization, and designing available, cost-efficient, fault-tolerant, and scalable distributed systems.
• Familiarity with building IaaS and PaaS solutions and experience with large and complex legacy IT environments.
• Experience with data center economics, migration, and refresh cycles, and with common enterprise virtualization environments.
• Experience working with senior business and IT stakeholders on business case / value analysis, TCO solutions, cost optimization solutions, and analysis of implementation options for IT infrastructures.
• Extensive experience in financial modeling and analysis of large-scale IT infrastructure, application, and service investments, including baselining the total cost of ownership and detailed scenario analysis.
• Experience in building and operating financial control and analysis systems, including cloud cost analysis, showback, and chargeback, and financial reporting on financial data, cost savings, and charging back to customers.
• Experience using tools to perform billbacks and showbacks.
