    Context And Mission


    The Accelerators and Communications for HPC Group leads cutting-edge research and development around accelerators/coprocessors in HPC and high-performance networking. We collaborate closely with the major vendors in the topic for HPC: NVIDIA and Intel. We organize locally international events such as the PUMPS Summer School, PATC Courses on CUDA/OpenACC, and annual hackathons, and collaborate in the organization of related international conferences and workshops such as SC, IEEE Cluster, or AsHES.

    The group has been recently awarded one of the prestigious ERC Consolidator Grants:

    While we engage in permanent contracts, candidates planning to stay only for their postdoctoral stage are also welcome. This ERC project is only the entry point - expectations are to develop career in different projects.

    Key Duties
    • Drive a line of research in the project: Optimizations upon current technology
    • Mentor students
    • Write papers and scientific documents
    • Drive dissemination and communication tasks
    • Attend international conferences
    • Become the group's expert in machine learning software optimizations
    • Integrate within the ERC team and the AccelCom Group
    Requirements
    • Education
      • PhD in CS-related field
    • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
      • Expert in software optimization with background in machine learning
      • No extra-academic experience required
      • Candidates within the last stage of their PhD studies are welcome to apply
    • Competences
      • Good English Level

    Conditions
    • The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department
