    This role involves collaborating with multiple teams to develop highly accurate cost models and negotiation toolsets, aimed at optimizing expenditure and maximizing efficiency across our operations.

    Your experience in working with diverse global teams and effectively communicating with stakeholders is essential.
    We're in search of exceptionally talented, bright, and driven individuals to help drive digital innovation in Procurement Cost Engineering.

    We are seeking an experienced, versatile and customer obsessed Procurement Technical Advisor, Cost Engineering who will be responsible for driving cost engineering and digital optimization initiatives in one or several procurement categories (for example Packaging, Services, Robotics, material handling equipment or CAPEX, Freight).The ideal candidate has experience in procurement/cost engineering with an added experience in data and digital innovation.

    Alternatively, the candidate is a mechanical engineer with industrial expertise and a deep understanding of cost drivers and ideally experience in supplier negotiations.

    Ability to steer extended cross-discipline teams as well as project management and executive presentation skills are essential.

    Basic qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
    • Ability to make quick decisions and solve complex problems with limited information
    • Wide knowledge of procurement categories and associated benchmark technologies
    • Demonstrated should costing experience - work breakdown structure, bottom-up calculation and comparison with cost-breakdown-structure from supplier and industry benchmark
    • Good IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills
    • Expertise in software programs for cost management
    • Ability to comfortably and confidently present and influence all levels within the organization and to work with both technical and non-technical teams
    • Oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively and prioritize tasksPreferred qualifications
    • MSc./ MBA
    • Experience in QuickSight, PowerBI, or similar data visualization tools.
    • Experience with SQL
    • Deep understanding of the procurement process and/or cost engineering, ideally with an industrial equipment manufacturer
    • Experience negotiating contracts
    • Results oriented person with a strong delivery focus Key job responsibilities
    • Develop overall procurement cost-engineering roadmap and establish should-costing for one or several procurement categories
    • Utilize costing methodologies and appropriate software tools to prepare reliable bottom-up cost models and should-cost targets during design, specification and development process in close collaboration with category managers, engineering and construction
    • Support preparation and evaluation of call for tenders and supplier quotations, prepare negotiation dossiers from cost engineering viewpoint in close collaboration with category managers
    • Ensure supplier quotations meet 'should cost' estimates, support negotiations by challenging quotations using technical analysis aiming for cost reductions
    • Advise on the cost impact of changes in specification
    • Collaborate with suppliers and internal customers to investigate and identify product innovations and design-to-cost initiatives with the ultimate target to achieve cost improvement
    • Communicate with and support management decisions by providing appropriate cost information
    • Develop and maintain cost engineering KPI's and dashboards to track performance and drive continuous improvement.
