    Our Claims professionals support AIG policyholders through some of the most trying times. When our clients face losses large and small, we step up to help them ease the financial burdens of catastrophic events like fires and hurricanes; we help them get their businesses back up and running again or recoup the value of a lost family heirloom or a prized possession. Our Claims team is an industry leader, drawing daily on its unparalleled levels of expertise to offer our clients the highest levels of stewardship to drive total cost of claim improvement and consistent outcomes. AIG manages claims using a wealth of technical and market knowledge about risks, business practices, and the ever-evolving legal and regulatory environment.

    About the role

    What you need to know:

    To handle PSR (Property and Specialty Risks) Business portfolio of claims from coverage enquiry through legal liability assessment (where relevant) and quantum analysis, to timely and accurate resolution; ensuring mitigation of indemnity and expense exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders. Provide a high standard of customer service and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

    Managing complex claims handling enquiry; coverage determination, quantum analysis and legal liability assessment, where appropriate within authority limits and providing a high standard of customer service.

    Work with Team Manager/Senior Adjuster to ensuring effective vendor and litigation management on complex claims within a personal allocation.

    Internal stakeholder communication where required

    Strive for continuous improvement on claim file handling with feedback and support through the Quality Assurance Review processes

    Contribute to maintenance of best practice procedures for (LoB) complex claims, consistent with global best practice.

    Demonstrate a technical claims competence for handling moderate to complex claims.

    Handle complex claims allocated within agreed level of authority limit

    What we're looking for:

    Relevant experience in insurance, in Property, Marine and Trade Credit Claims departments

    Law, Business Administration or Economics degree

    Fluent in English

    Experienced in stakeholder management, both internal (underwriting, distribution, finance and executive management) and external (brokers and clients)

    Knowledge of legal / regulatory and procedural requirements

    Result driven

    Capacity to work in an industry changing landscape

    Attention to detail

    Good time management and priorization skills.
