Job Description Summary:
Join our team as the Senior Systems Engineer for our Offshore Wind product range. You will be leading all aspects of the engineering efforts to meet targets by ensuring alignment within engineering disciplines, negotiating, collaborating and influencing both internally and externally with our clients
In your role a Senior System Engineer you will be the main owner for the product or feature and accessory requirements and achievement of CTQs through the design, taking system level trades and decisions, contribution to and approval of requirements and customer facing technical documents.
- Provide wind turbine system expertise through all phases of product development, from requirements definition through design and development, validation and product lifecycle support
- Responsible for interface management between the subsystem of the turbine, requirements flowdown of system level requirements to component level requirements (cost, reliability, performance, RAMS, etc), configuration & lifecycle management.
- Lead the technical workstream of the wind turbine product or feature and accessory development.
- Lead and/or oversee system conceptual design studies and tradeoffs that address product CTQs such as cost, power performance, noise, reliability & operability
- Contribute to and approve system requirements (through Design Memos)
- Work closely with the Chief Engineering Office across the business and global team members to ensure high quality and consistency on systems design and trade off decisions
- Master's degree from an accredited university in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience working in wind turbine product development and technologies
- Expert knowledge on wind turbine systems integration
- Conceptual design and systemlevel tradeoff experience
- Field issues, test and/or validation experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong technical aptitude
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
- Ability to breakdown complex issues, determine possible courses of action, and enable effective decision making
- Experience in wind Turbine Certification Processes
- Experience working with LEAN tools and in a LEAN culture
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Established project management skills.
- Experience and good performance in working in multicultural diverse teams
