The Barcelona Institute for Global Health, ISGlobal, is the result of an innovative alliance between academic, government, and philanthropic institutions to contribute to the efforts undertaken by the international community to address the challenges in global health.
The institution is leading several innovative research projects in the area of migrant health, particularly focused on infectious diseases in migrants.

What We Are Looking for:
Main responsabilities and tasks: - Contribute biostatistics support for the IMPREDCIT project, included but not limited:
To evaluate the burden of ID in migrants and travellers, to identify risk-factors associated with them and with poorer outcomes of such infections.
To develop a personalized clinical decision support system (CDSS) to early detect infections in migrants and travellers based on automated algorithms using advanced statistical methods (i.e., machine learning).
To evaluate preliminary efficacy of a tool that integrates the CDSS in the electronic patient records of Primary care.- Develop data analytics methodology to explain and predict health outcomes in migrants.
- To provide support and knowledge to a diverse range of other studies related to migrant health conducted by the research group.
- Participate in the analysis and writing of scientific articles under the supervision of the principal investigator.
- Search pertinent scientific literature as needed.
Experience and training:
- Biostatistician with expertise in clinical epidemiology.
- Solid programming experience in one or more general purpose programming language: Python, R, Scala
- Experience developing algorithms or building data solutions, and integrating and managing datasets from multiple sources is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience in research studies.
- Experience and knowledge on issues related to Global Health will be valued

- Fluent in English
Salary and conditions:
- The position is for a period of 12 months, full time, extendable. The conditions will be agreed according to training and experience. Incorporation planned by September.
