JOB DESCRIPTION:


The IGTP needs to incorporate a postdoctoral researcher to the Cardiology Unit, ICREC group (Heart Failure and Cardiac Regeneration) led by Dr.

Antoni Bayés Genís, to carry out research tasks within the framework of the project "Heart failure and cardiometabolism, and population epidemiology, with special emphasis on sodium-glucose co-transporter type 2 (I-SGLT2) inhibitors".

The ICREC group (Heart Failure and Cardiac Regeneration), was born with the purpose of gathering the necessary resources and talent to promote cardiovascular research from a multidisciplinary team (pre
- and postdoctoral researchers, laboratory technicians, research nurses, administrative staff and with the help of cardiologists, surgeons cardiac and resident doctors), has recently experienced a significant increase in personnel and in its research activity, becoming a prominent team in scientific areas such as heart failure and cardiac regeneration (more than 500 articles in basic and translational research published in indexed journals since 2017).


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE:


  • PhD in a relevant area of biomedical sciences such as in Biology, Medicine, Biochemistry, Biomedicine, Biotechnology (or related field) paired with a minimum of 24 years of related experience.
  • Experience in medicine (within the cardiovascular or endocrinology areas), biology, biomedicine, biochemistry, statistics, physics or computer science.
  • Interest in working in a highly interdisciplinary environment (researchers, physicians, nurses, etc).
  • Experience in human genetics, in cardiovascular animal models, bin cell culture, molecular biology and omics.
  • Knowledge on statistical analysis (SPSS, R).
  • Proficient in English.

Additional skills will be also considered such as:

  • Guiding research projects through experimental design, conducting experiments, and analyzing data.
  • Good record of publications in peerreviewed English journals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Highly developed organization skills.
  • Leadership and management skills but also be able to perform as a team member.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific working areas (at least expertise in one of them):

  • Heart failure (HF)
  • Fundamentally, working to find new therapies, new devices and diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers.
  • Cardiometabolism: study of the relationship / regulation between adiposity and ventricular dysfunction.


  • Cardiovascular population epidemiology

  • Research related to getting to have a million connection of the types of patients with IC that have the territory (fraction of the execution reduced or preserved, etc.), and its management.
