JOB DESCRIPTION:


Job function:


  • To improve synthetic strategies for the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel catalysts/catalytic system in collaboration with other team members.
  • To design and setup fixedbed, batch, and other reactors under nonconventional and conventional heating sources to carry out the targeted reactions.
  • To implement characterization tools to analyze in batch/continuous the targeted reaction products.
  • To work closely with the principal investigator and team members to maintain a high level of scientific productivity.
  • To prepare, present, and report research results and publish scientific results in key peerreviewed journals in due time.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INSTITUTION:


  • A PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field
  • Demonstrable experience in catalysis (homogeneous and heterogeneous) and design and characterization of catalysts.
  • Demonstrable experience in operation and setup of batch and continuousflow reactors.
  • Preferably knowledge in CO2 and/or plastic waste upgrading to fuels and chemicals.
  • Familiarity with analytical tools to determine compositions of complex mixtures.
  • Familiarity with nonconventional heating sources such as microwaves and/or induction heating.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to function well in a fastpaced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills in English.
