About this opportunity

Nowadays, technology and automation, spearheaded by evolving legislative requirements, are at the

forefront of the Indirect Tax function. In this newly created Global Indirect Tax Technology and

Automation Sr Manager role, you will join Align's Global Indirect Tax team, and be part of Align's

Global Indirect Tax team. You will be responsible for leading the global indirect tax efforts in process

automation, data and technology capabilities. As a technology and automation Champion, you will

actively promote and participate in change-management efforts required to embed the "new-ways of

working" in a digital Indirect Tax function.

In this role, you will

Functional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Indirect Tax Leaders, IT and Finance to develop the global technology,
automation and data vision, strategy, and short/medium/long term roadmap to progress the

strategy and achieve the vision

  • Drive implementation of scalable end to end indirect tax technology solutions to increase
efficiencies and reduce manual work (e.g. robots, machine learning, AI, alteryx, Power BI)

  • Drive awareness, training, and capability development for process automation across the global
Indirect Tax team

  • Develop tax data reporting solutions (e.g. dashboards to visualize indirect tax positions, KPI's,
filing status )

  • Evaluate best practices & tools, assess new technology & automation solutions that could benefit
the Indirect tax function

  • Actively lead project management activities to ensure successful and timely implementation of
projects

  • Assess system and process requirements of indirect tax legislative changes and trends (e invoicing, real time reporting, etc ); provide updates to Indirect Tax Management and relevant
stakeholders; support the implementation of the changes

  • Partner with the indirect tax leadership to develop a roadmap for the technology and automation
of the indirect tax function

  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure capability performance and progress against the
roadmap.

Cross Functional Responsibilities

  • Partner with relevant business stakeholders (Tax, Supply Chain, IT, Accounting) and external
parties (such as consultants) in order to monitor and ensure compliance to indirect tax

requirements (e.g. e-invoicing, e-reporting)

  • Drive awareness, training, and capability development for process automation across the global
Indirect Tax team

In this role, you'll need

  • More than 10 years of experience in similar role
  • Master degree in Finance, Law and/or Technology. Post graduate is a plus
  • Interest in learning and understanding Align's indirect tax processes, data and systems, as well
as gaining a general knowledge of indirect taxes

  • Appreciation for and desire to use technology and automation tools to enhance work processes
  • Ability to drive change using positive collaboration and influencing skills
  • Advanced organizational skills you will need to document and keep track of multiple work streams and lead several initiatives concurrently
  • Analytical mindset, balanced with a pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate IT concepts to nonIT audience
  • Fluent English: written and oral
