About this opportunity
The Senior Counsel, EMEA Privacy will report to the Senior Lead Counsel, Global Privacy and Regional Compliance and Ethics Officer, and be responsible for supporting Aligns's data governance and privacy program, with a focus on EMEA, maintaining privacy policies for internal use and privacy statements for internal and external use, and assisting the business for day-to-day requests


In this role, you will

Be responsible for:

  • Supporting the implementation and scaling of the company's privacy program
  • Lead on incident management, including maintaining the tracker and develop and maintain appropriate policies and training
  • Manage and triage standard requests from external and internal stakeholders
  • Prepare, get input on and get approvals on privacy communications
  • Develop,launch and deliver privacy trainings
  • Manage various projects and ensure consultation with key stakeholders, tracking of milestones and reporting
  • Work on privacy operationalization: maintain trackers, version control, internal documentation database, Manage privacy policy lifecycle and related updates, coordinate rollout of updates or new policies, and other key projects
  • Perform DPIAs and TIAs
  • Perform daytoday activities and answer independently requests related to the privacy program from EMEA internal clients.

In this role, you'll need

  • Master degree in law, bar exam preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of work experience, 4 of which in a privacy function;
  • Project management experience
  • Deep knowledge of privacy laws, especially GDPR and other EMEA laws
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to build awareness and buy in for privacy policies
  • Familiarity with privacy management tools
  • Great command of English, any other language a plus
