    Project Coordinator

    Leap29 have partnered with a renowned client who are actively exploring expanding their business platform into emerging markets, particularly focusing on the African C&I (Commercial & Industrial) space. Our client is recruiting a Project Coordinator to oversee all areas of project development for opportunities in Africa, including design, engineering, procurement, supply chain, project management, construction activities, and commissioning. This will be from pre-construction to the post-construction phases, ensuring timely completion, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for reporting on project progress and identifying performance gaps to management, ensuring corrective measures are implemented.

    Primary Responsibilities

    1. Develop and maintain comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
    2. Monitor and update project work schedules using existing templates and effectively track project progress throughout the hybrid project lifecycle.
    3. Carry out a technical review of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA).
    4. Carry out technical review of the supply agreements and appendices, and contribute towards scoping, structuring and execution of the EPC agreements.
    5. Prepare interface matrices, for both internal and external interfaces.
    6. Identify project schedule and budget risks at an early stage and alert the Project Implementation Lead in time to minimise or mitigate impacts.
    7. Prepare regular progress reports, status updates, and presentations for internal management, stakeholders, and project sponsors to provide visibility into project performance and ensure alignment with expectations.
    8. Consistently, accurately, and clearly capture project construction data.
    9. Transmit weekly reports to the team through existing tools in accordance with reporting deadlines, including stakeholder grievances.
    10. Accurately carry out project document control and monitor the documentation through to project's completion.
    11. Investigate opportunities to improve project implementation to deliver best value to the customer and optimise project returns.
    12. Interpret basic technical design principles related to energy systems, electrical systems, and the built environment, including technical drawings and equipment data sheets.
    13. Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility on-site, enforce HSE policies and procedures, and oversee the implementation of best practices to mitigate risks and prevent accidents or incidents.
    14. Implement quality control measures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and environmental requirements throughout the construction phase.
    15. Conduct site audits of compliance to company and international EHS standards.
    16. Recommend and validate corrective actions to close compliance gaps.
    17. Provide administrative support for business development from origination until contract signing. This includes supporting Project Managers with compiling data, proposals and local assumptions.
    18. Demonstrate awareness of all laws and regulations relevant for project work and pro-actively raise questions with Project Manager about best practices for compliance.

    Required Qualifications & Experience

    7+ years proven experience in project management, and ideally in the construction of renewable energy projects or large-scale infrastructure projects. Strong technical knowledge of solar PV, and ideally in battery energy storage systems. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and multicultural teams. Professional fluency in English & French, speaking and writing. Professional fluency in use of Microsoft Office suite tools, including Excel and Word. Demonstrated ability to organise and complete work independently, without on-site supervision. This will be a remotely managed position.

    Location
