Acerca de Carlos Martínez Ortega:
During my time at high school and college, I worked at their radio programs. Throughout that time, not only did I take on the role as a broadcaster and a technician, but I also acted as a community manager and creator of promotional spots for the program. I was also responsible for creating the lyrics for theme songs for these programs, as well as other roles I needed to inhabit during my time there. During both of these periods, I rose to a management position due to my performance.
During college, I was a member of various production crews, taking on roles as scriptwriter, production assistant and camera operator. However, the most important skills I was able to develop was my analytical capabilities, my interest in adaptation and my passion for the videogame medium.
After college, I studied Game Design and developed Ronin-Hood Sisters during a ten month production with a crew consisting of some classmates. My role was that of generalist Designer, but I had a hand in the development of the game´s UI design, narrative design, enemy design and the core mechanics of the game. During three months, I acted as an assistant producer, while also doubling as a community manager for most of the production. During this time, I truly realized how game development works and how important commitment to a project and teamwork are in the games industry.
I’m a very social individual, because of that I enjoy working with others and having a designated workspace. I carry out my work with drive and care, especially when I work on something that I'm passionate about, which tends to be video games in general and other types of interactive media, such as roleplaying games. In my daily life, I find myself constantly analysing both fiction and real life experiences to come up with game mechanics or rules that could adapt and represent them on some interactive media.
I also love music, dancing, acting, fashion, cooking, drawing, makeup and the arts and crafts.
