Field Services Engineer.
This position is a fully remote/field-based opening. You need to live in the assigned area, preferably close to Andalucia

The
Field Services Engineer will be dispatched to drive to various customer sites in a
company-provided vehicle.

This role will have to travel overnight 1 to 3 days a week with stays at any of our company-approved hotels.


You will perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation for Hach's wide range of customer sites, including municipal wastewater, drinking water, food, beverage, power, and laboratories.


Onboarding:

Training will occur over the first 90 days of employment and will include trips to our customer sites.

The majority of training is on the job mentorship with more senior service technicians and sales team members on ride-a-longs.


Main responsibilities:


  • Build a positive customer experience and serves as onsite customer contact for technical and servicerelated problems and provide telephone support to customers technical queries
  • Interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Submit timely, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure
  • Follow safe work practices according to company policy
  • Implement precall planning, efficient service schedule routing, and visit requirements
  • Carry out calibration/validation installation, service repairs, maintenance and calibration on equipment on the customer premises under the direction of the Spanish office centralized dispatch planning team
  • Coordinate with manager and materials handlers to resolve appropriate replacement parts inventory
  • Handle efficient parts' utilization, and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Control own spare parts inventory and to ensure spares and equipment movements.
  • Maintain tools, spares, equipment and company vehicle in good condition.
  • Carry out or assist with other duties by agreement with Supervisor and Service Manager.
  • Promote the sales of service work in Spain in conjunction with colleagues in Sales and Administration

Key competencies:


  • Mechanical, electronic & electrical proficiency
  • Validated experience performing Preventative Maintenance (PM), diagnostics & repair on core products as required
  • Ability to interpret and understand schematics
  • Computer literate and familiar with remote telemetry
  • Willingness to travel and lodge out were required to meet customer demands
  • Holds valid driving license and clean driving record
