    Freelance | Paris, France | Engineering |OverviewOlympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) was created by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 2001 in order to serve as the Host Broadcasting organisation for all Olympic Games, Olympic Winter Games and Youth Olympic Games. The Host Broadcaster is responsible for delivering the pictures and sounds of the Olympic Games to billions of viewers around the world. For more information visit DescriptionThe MDS Engineer position works in the setup, commissioning and support of the MDS system for the Olympic Games in IBC & NETWORKING Broadcast Engineering department.DutiesParticipate in a working group responsible for the deployment and development of the MDS system, sharing knowledge with the rest of the team and reporting issues to management when necessary.Set up, configure and support MDS systems.Follow the engineering, installation and configuration plan for MDS. Keeping track of the progress and resolving issues arising in the process.Log the activity during the shift and report all pending issues to the next shift.Support the engineering department and MDS production team during games time.Troubleshoot any technical issues related to audio, video and intercom at MDS.ExperienceFluent identifying and addressing issues in a TV channel continuity systemExperience with broadcast equipment (e.g. router panels, video monitors, audio monitors, intercom panels, etc...)Ability to read and write, analyze and interpret logs, tech tips and procedure manualsExcellent English language communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment with OBS members from all around the worldExperience in automation systems for TV continuity systems (Imagine Automation).Experience with EVS video server systems.Experience with video routing systemsTelecommunications, Broadcast or TV Engineering or related university degree requiredSome Basic networking knowledgeFast-paced work environmentSubject to national/international criminal background checksThis is a 3-month freelance opportunity starting in early May 2024 and ending mid August 2024This role ideally requires someone who is already a registered freelancer and is available to start as soon as possible.How to applyTo be considered for this opportunity, please submit your cv/resume through this link .We thank all applicants, however, only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
