BayWa r.e. Projects España S.L.U. - a wholly-owned subsidiary of BayWa r.e.

AG - is responsible for the development, structuring and execution of utility-scale wind and solar energy projects in Spain & Portugal.

Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our team in Spain and are currently looking for a Grid Connection Manager.

Although this person must be based in Spain, this role is able to be done completely remotely and therefore, the person does not need to be located in Madrid.

Along with our Madrid offices, we have our legal entity in Barcelona, and a coworking space in Sevilla.

What You Will Do

Lead the grid connection process, in combination with developer/project manager, for grid connection, substation and evacuation line.
Commercial and technical due diligence for pipeline acquisition and support to project management.
Develop and build relationships with external clients, partners, DNO's, TSO's, grid consultancies and contractors.
Contract management of grid services (ICP, consultancy, LNTP, etc).
Lead the tendering process for both ICP/grid contractor and power transformer.
Consolidate the ICP contract with particular focus on the key dates influenced by the COD date of the PV/wind plant.
Originate and update the grid project programme in coordination with the timeline of the PV/wind plant.
Successful Management of the grid commissioning process during the project (EON, APESp, LON and FON) with both DNO/TSO and relevant authority.
Represent BayWa during negotiations of shared infrastructure with third parties.
Alignment and understanding of COD and PPA dates and how they are influenced by the grid energisation date.
Interface for all substation/evacuation line related topic (EPC, PPC, SCADA, control center, external certification companies) and its coordination.

What You Bring

You have an educational and professional background in engineering, especially electrical engineering.
You are able to deliver substation and transmission line projects on time and within budget.
You have extensive experience in high voltage infrastructure, including substations, overhead lines and underground cables, for voltage levels 45 kV, 66 kV, 132 kV and 220 kV.
You bring comprehensive knowledge of the Spanish DNO/TSO network as well as access and connection regulations.
You have a structured way of working, are well organized and have good time management skills.
You are fluent in business English and Spanish; German is a plus.
You enjoy working in an international and digital environment.
You are proficient with MS Office.
