Legal Counsel

Purpose

To provide legal support and guidance to the (subgroup name) business aligned with Bayer s guidelines and policies, by drafting and/or reviewing agreements so as to minimize the company s exposure to legal risk.

Scope (global, regional or local): Iberia

Key Tasks

To participate and contribute, as an active member of the CH & EF Leadership Teams
To advice Iberian CH & EF on legal and/or compliance (e.g. Anti Corruption, Anti Trust, Conflict of interest) risks, understanding their needs and balancing interests
To foresee potential legal and/or compliance risks while developing effective management strategies
To manage complex projects, cross functionally and/or with Global
To support in Merger & Acquisitions and other transformational corporate projects
To build up strong relationships with Iberian and Global stakeholders
To partner up with Iberian CH & EF colleagues into finding business friendly and simple solutions to a variety of matters
To suggest and put forward innovative initiatives that improve decision making and processes
To establish strong governance systems that protect the reputation of Iberian CH and EF
To increase the legal and compliance awareness within Iberian CH and EF
To monitor any advances and changes in the legislation, code of conduct and internal regulations, and lobby internally and at the CH

Trade Associations Key Working Relation:
Interaction with Business and Functional managers within the assigned area of responsibility.

Qualification & Competencies

English & Spanish language on native speaking or comparable level (oral and written)
Academic degree (Bachelor, Master) in Law
A minimum of 35 years professional experience after graduation
Work experience in legal, compliance and/or data privacy work from an international law firm or a multinational company desirable.
Advanced communication and training skills, also vis non lawyers
Goal orientation, hands on and proactive team player
Business knowledge of Consumer Healthcare and Enabling Functions strategies
Ability to connect the CH business/EF and legal & compliance knowledge
Good people skills and excellent customer service skills
To be persuasive and resilient
To understand budgets and business planning
To coordinate and guide external counsels
Sound awareness of project management
To work independently with limited supervision and as a team with your colleagues
