- PhD in Physics or Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics with a strong grasp on Quantum Mechanics as well as foundational notions of Quantum Information Theory.
- Demonstrated record of individual initiative and originality in research.
- Strong mathematical/analytical skills with a background in the following subjects: Quantum Information theory, Computer Networking, and Machine Learning.
- Programming skills in at least one language (Python/C etc.).
- Knowledge of Qiskit or any other quantum programming language is a strong plus.
- An understanding of network theory from an applied and/or theoretical perspective (such as graph theory) are a strong plus.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
- A vibrant international workplace with the opportunity of collaborating with top research groups at the institute and elsewhere

We invite applications for a postdoc position working on some of the challenging theoretical problems in Quantum Networking.
The candidate will work in the, led by Antonio Fernandez Anta, and in the , led by Vincenzo Mancuso and Marco Ajmone Marsan. The members of the Global Computing Group work on distributed systems, and data acquisition and analysis. The members of the OppArch Lab focus on solutions for extremely high-performing opportunistic architectures for highly dense cellular networks and for infrastructure-less wireless services.
