We are looking for a Research Executive to join our DXI team in Madrid.

You will work with the Edelman Data & Intelligence teams in EMEA on a wide range of projects and initiatives.

The work will be primarily conducted in English so fluency, both written and verbal, is essential.

  • As a Research Executive on the Human Intelligence team you will provide support in the design, management and execution of a variety of primary (quantitative and qualitative) and secondary research projects and even delve into digital analytics and data science. This role will give you the opportunity to work on a variety of projects under the direction of a Research Manager but will allow you to take the lead on smaller adhoc assignments. This is an opportunity to work directly in a communications agency and expand your knowledge of how communications are brought to life and activated. At the same time, your projects will focus on larger issues impacting the environment our clients work in, whether this is understanding the impact of government legislation, tracking opinions on migration or segmenting the digital population. Responsibilities:


  • Supporting in the overall design and execution of primary research projects, including but not limited to:
  • _ Questionnaire and discussion guide design_
- _ Fieldwork management_
- _ Link checking_
- _ Table and data checking_
- _ Analysis and reporting_

  • Supporting in the overall design and execution of secondary research projects, including but not limited to:
  • _ Exploratory desk research_
- _ Designing Boolean searches/taxonomies_
- _ Data quality check_
- _ Data coding_
- _ Ongoing monitoring and reporting_

  • Drafting presentations, using visual storytelling
  • Supplier relationship management

Skills and Experience:


  • Experience of quantitative research is required, experience of qualitative research is a bonus
  • Well versed in social media, both personally and professionally
  • Good knowledge of the MS office suite
  • Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • A collaborative, outgoing, positive attitude with drive to take on responsibility and work with a variety of internal and external clients
  • High level of organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Attention to detail and the ability to examine a problem from different perspectives, using logical and creative thinking to come up with solutions.
  • Brilliant communication skills with the ability to argue a point coherently
  • Strong report writing skills, including the ability to boil down a complex project to key visual PowerPoint slides that tell the story and provide recommendations
  • Curiosity about what makes people think and act the way they do
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Good level of spoken and written English

Advantageous Skills:


  • Experience with secondary research such as social listening (both traditional and social) is an advantage. This includes using tools such as Sysomos, Netbase, Factiva, etc., and an attitude of exploring and embracing new tools
  • International research experience is a distinct advantage
  • Experience within a brand, public relations or consumer marketing insights agency is an advantage
  • Fluency in other languages is an advantage
