You will be part of a dynamic and international team focused on development and construction of renewable power plants.

Our ambition is to play an active role in the energy transition, aligned with Alpiq's strategy, by increasing the installed capacity of flexible and environmentally friendly power plants in Europe.

We work together with our business developer's colleagues, on projects in early or later stage of the development phase. We manage the transformation of an idea into a real asset who produces electricity. Once the power plant is up and running, we hand it over to our asset managers' colleagues.

This role can be based in Madrid or Milan.

Your Reponsibilities:

You will lead and take ownership on all electrical aspects regarding the configuration, design, construction and commissioning of power plants and battery storages, focused on fulfilling grid compliance and industry/standard norms requirements.
You will specify contractual owner's electrical requirements to be fulfilled by contractors, including scope of works, calculations and quality/control tests to be implemented.
You will assess electrical specification of individual equipment and components, together with the technology expert to ensure the validity of the whole power plant design.
You will lead relation with counterparties linked to electrical aspects as grid operators, technology providers of electrical components and electrical contractors.
You will define and follow up the scope of works of third party consultants, and validate their work

Your Profile:

Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
10 years of total professional work experience in electrical conceptual design, construction and commissioning of MV and LV systems/grids (functional requirement), linked to power plants. This includes setting technical requirements, review and approval third parties' designs.
Good experience in specifying HV, MV and LV electrical equipment
Familiar with construction and installation of power systems as well as commissioning of power plants and fulfillment of grid code compliance requirements
Confidence in reviewing reports and calculations for electrical dimensioning and design.

This includes managing/supervising internal and/or external engineering tasks & consultants (eg:
cable section, transformer, protections, selectivity plan, earthing)

Knowledge of Solar PV, Wind and BESS technologies an asset
Proactive and selfdriven with strong awareness of time constraints and project deadlines
Resilient, used to take ownership on topics
Available for punctual trips for site visits or factory inspections (in Europe)
Proficient English, good level of Spanish or Italian, other European languages a plus
Flexible, fastpaced and keen on adapting to changes
Eager to work in multicultural teams
EU passport (we do not sponsor nonEU Visas for this role)
