For our Project & Construction team within the Division International, we are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Contract Manager.

The Contract Manager will support mainly renewable energy projects (incl. wind onshore, PV, hydrogen) in various European countries, assuming responsibility for the entire contracting lifecycle from RFP to close-out.

You can be based in Madrid or Milan.


Your Responsibilities:


  • Support the managing and launching of RFPs for the construction of renewable energy projects and provide input in the commercial evaluations of such RFPs
  • Support project team to implement best practice on construction, contracting strategies, contractor prequalification, contractor management, progress reporting, defining and monitoring quality standards to be used in construction activities
  • Participate in and prepare contract negotiations with contractors and suppliers; support drafting of a variety of contracts including EPC and O&M contracts
  • Support handover to project execution team and assume responsibility for all project contractual activities during construction and warranty period until all contractual obligations are complete and all contractual issues are resolved/settled
  • Establish and implement contractual procedures, particularly regarding claims, insurance, variation orders, correspondence and notifications
  • Support project risk and opportunity identification and analysis
  • Monitor the progress of construction and fulfilment of contractual obligations by Alpiq/Alpiq managed SPV and by suppliers and contractors; ensure notices are given in line with contract requirements
  • Manage change orders and contractual correspondence
  • Proactively manage claims to/from contractor, suppliers and partners, including negotiations and settlements
  • Establish and maintain contract records including necessary documentation for proper contract management; collect all relevant documentation and information to investigate the circumstances in relation to potential claims; filing and managing of auditproof contract documents
  • Manage project insurance and insurance claims as required
  • Contribute to project reports and presentations as required
  • Coordinate with and support the legal team on legal issues relating to the projects
  • Manage and enforce warranty claims against contractors and suppliers

Your Profile:


  • At least 5 years of professional experience preferably within infrastructure engineering projects, experience in construction of renewable energy assets is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of contract requirements and processes, ideally at international level
  • Experience in planning, leading and structuring negotiations with customers and suppliers to optimize value
  • Proven track record within the area of contract management and claim management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English, Spanish or Italian is an asset
  • Personal gravitas and comfortable working as part of a multidimensional team across various countries; ability to build strong crossfunctional relationships
  • Handson, solution oriented and exemplifying creative problemsolving abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines
  • Good commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Willingness to travel to project locations if necessary (in Europe)
  • EU Passport (we do not sponsor nonEU Visas)
