- Oversee and enhance CEPSA Trading's monitoring and surveillance program according to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Analyze trading data, order flow, communications, and other information using surveillance tools to identify potential compliance issues.
- Suggest process improvements and enhancements in surveillance methodologies and tools.
- Maintain and communicate reports on surveillance findings, trends, and issues to senior management.
- Keep detailed records of surveillance activities and findings to meet record-keeping requirements.
- Conduct periodic market abuse risk assessments and thematic reviews.
- Collaborate with compliance colleagues, traders, and stakeholders to support investigations and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, staying informed about applicable rules and regulations.
- Assist in developing and conducting training programs to enhance regulatory compliance knowledge among trading desk staff.
- Prior experience in energy and commodity trading in front office, operations, risk management, or compliance.
- Proficiency in interpreting complex data to make informed decisions.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Thorough understanding of physical oil, gas, and power markets, as well as derivatives.
- Technical knowledge of market abuse typologies and behaviors related to energy and commodity markets.
- Familiarity with third-party monitoring and surveillance technology platforms.
- Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Desirable skills in advanced IT and coding (Excel, VBA, PowerBI).
