Training through practical experience:

The Center for AI Research and Development Internship in Spain allows you to work on artificial intelligence research and engineering challenges.

It offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with world-class domain experts and learn about scientific domains at the intersection of AI and other fields of science, from biology to chemistry.

It is a hands-on experience working collaboratively on projects pushing AI frontiers towards advancing drug discovery and development.

The program is open to students enrolled in a master's or PhD program.

It focuses primarily on programs with a strong focus on computational, statistical, and mathematical sciences and technical-related fields for biomedical research.

Your learning and growth journey may include:

Assist in applying, modifying, and developing new algorithms and software tools, support the organization, and process multiple data sources.
Support the evaluation and feasibility of stateoftheart methodologies using experiment design, rapid prototyping, and agile and modern engineering practices.
Contribute to existing AI research and development efforts to solve problems in biology, chemistry, and clinical research.
Report research findings and ongoing project developments and present these, internally and externally, verbally and in writing.

Requirements:

Currently enrolled in a master's or PhD degree students in computer science, statistics, linguistics, mathematics, physics, operations research, chemistry, biology, or related field, with a strong focus on biomedical research.
Knowledge gained in one or more areas, particularly causal inference, machine learning, deep learning, control theory, natural language processing, multiscale modelling, reinforcement learning, mathematical optimisation and simulation, quantum information, signal processing, game theory, statistical inference, operations research, pattern recognition, algorithm discovery, computational complexity theory, recommendation systems, probabilistic programming, natural language understanding, computer vision, algorithmic foundations of optimisation, data science, software engineering, quantum computation, information theory, protein engineering, microbiology, structural biology, molecular design, biochemistry, genomics, genetics, bioinformatics, molecular, cellular and tissue biology or similar areas relevant to artificial intelligence for biomedical research.
Ability to communicate in English fluently.
