  • Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, was a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe), and is now hosting entity for EuroHPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads largescale investments and HPC provision in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 900 staff from 55 countries.

    Context And Mission
  • The project "Distributed Artificial Intelligence for the early diagnosis and treatment of diseases with a high prevalence in ageing" (AI4HA) aims to advance the research and development of a decentralized intelligent system for data collection and analysis that allows our health system to anticipate and act promptly in psychiatric, neurological, motor and degenerative diseases of significant prevalence in the context of ageing.
  • The purpose is to study the impact of AI in healthcare from an ELSEC perspective.
    Key Duties
  • Support in ELSEC AI activities in the field of AI in healthcare.
  • Qualitative analysis of user acceptance and bias.
  • Coordinate participatory methods with use case providers and AI developers.
  • Contribute to project deliverables.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary environment.

Requirements:


  • Education
  • A PhD degree is required. Background in Philosophy, Sociology or Design
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Experience in qualitative/quantitative research.
  • Experience in usercentered design.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of AI and ML methods.
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Familiar with the design of AIbased systems.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Competences
  • Strong personal softskills sets: Communicative, enthusiastic, highly collaborative, proactive, selfdriven.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good writing and presentation skills

Conditions

  • The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department
  • We offer a fulltime contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with stateoftheart infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
  • Duration: Openended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
  • Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
  • Starting date: 16/2/2024
