What We Are Looking for: - ISGlobal is looking for a junior lab technician/predoctoral researcher to work on studies of immune correlates of protection against malaria after infection or vaccination. Activities carried out in the project aim to investigate mechanisms of vaccine-induced protection against infectious diseases, and identify correlates of vaccine-induced protection. The study is carried out in collaboration with multiple international research centers (Africa, Europe, USA, Australia).

Key Responsibilities:
- The purpose of the position is to perform antibody and B cell profiling studies in the context of infectious diseases and vaccines, including malaria. On one hand, the position includes laboratory analysis of samples for characterizing antibody and B cell responses, and on the other hand, also to ensure that complex datasets of samples and data collected in the immunology studies are organized in a standard format and available for statistical analysis at ISGlobal and international collaboration centers, to facilitate completion of the Analytical Plans and perform Data Analysis, under the supervision of the PIs. The position will require some experience in antibody assays including Luminex, as well as statistics and data management. The position is based at ISGlobal in Barcelona.
Specific Duties:
- Design and execute antibody assays by Luminex
- Perform B cell studies
- Carry out data cleaning, QA/QC and preprocessing
- Document and archive all data for easy use in future research, particularly management MAL067 database
- Conduct statistical analyses of the data.
- To register and archive R scripts/code (GitHub)
- Prepare data reports and manuscripts

Training and experience /Qualifications:
- Masters/degree in biomedical sciences and/or engineering, biostatistics, mathematics, physics, or related topics, with antibody assay and data analysis expertise
- Experience in Luminex antibody assays
- Experience/knowledge in processing, managing, visualization, presentation and analysis of complex multidimensional data and machine learning methods
- Experience with database management and programming software statistical analysis: R, Excel, CSV.
- Experience in analysis of immunological, vaccinology and infectious diseases data.
