Job Description Summary:

The Senior Application Engineer (AE) is a role, being part of Customer Support team, that is the interface between the Engineering team in offshore business and the Sales and Tender team for any Request for Quotation (RfQ) received for the HALIADE X wind turbine, with also the possibility of supporting the execution face of the opportunity once contract signed.

Job description


The Senior Application Engineer (SAE) is the interface between the Engineering team in offshore business and the Sales and Tender team for any Request for Quotation (RfQ) received for the HALIADE X wind turbine, with also the possibility of supporting the execution face of the opportunity once contract signed.


The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • Analyzing the Employer Requirements (ER) received
  • From this analysis, the SAE shall identify any deviation in comparison to the product.
  • Identify the adjustments (Design to Order, DTO) to be done in the product to fulfill the ER, including the cost and cycle associated.
  • DTOs result shall be shared with Sales and Tender point of contact to take them into account in the budget of the offer.
  • Liaise between customers and Engineering regarding balance of plant equipment.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with both external and internal representatives to ensure that customer requirements are ultimately understood and achieved
  • Provide timely & accurate responses to customer technical inquiries and issues.
  • Develop the engineering schedule with the support of the scheduling team if working during the execution phase of the contract (OTR)


In his/her function, the Senior Application Engineer (SAE) will clarify additional risks based on specific requirements from client and/or market.

The SAE will be responsible to create for Engineering team's scope, for every bid:

  • The Scope of Work Matrix
  • Risk Assessment Matrix (RAMP)
  • Deviation list from ER
  • Cost and concept of the DTOs
  • F&A
  • Cost of the standard work of Engineering for the project execution (POH).
  • Review of the schedule that for execution will be sent with the offer.


The SAE will work closely with the Tender Manager in order to support clarifications based on employer requirements in documentation or face to face meetings with client experts and Technical Due Diligence (TDD), as well as to Identify project opportunities increasing project margin and drive associated DTOs or Variation Orders.


Qualifications/Requirements

Engineering degree / university Degree:
Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering.

Experience in Wind Energy and Wind Turbines (Onshore or Offshore)

Experience in project management.

Fluent in English

Team working skills

People management ability, for cross functional reports

Good communication skills both internal and with external parties including customers

Ability for the dynamization of tasks both internal and external

Learning capacity (high integration speed in the team)


Desired Characteristics:

Experience with wind turbine Low Voltage and Medium Voltage power conversion systems

Offshore Wind Energy knowledge (Electrical, Mechanical, Balance of Plant, Controls, Loads)

Knowledge of the technologies involved in the WTG product

Knowledge in production processes of big Industrial equipment, preferably WTG technologies

Wide vision of the complete product and its value chain
