Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning was established on October 1st, 2015 as a joint venture between Hitachi Appliances, Inc. (now Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc.) and Johnson Controls, Inc. Hitachi Appliances carved out and contributed its air conditioning business to the Joint Venture. Johnson Controls acquired a 60% stake of the carved-out business and Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc. continues as a 40% shareholder of this venture.


With this joint venture, two rich, 100-year-old cultures and histories have come together to create one exciting new company, serving our combined customers with the most diverse product portfolio in the air conditioning industry.

For our Vacarisses Plant, in Barcelona, we are looking for a:


North America Product Regulations Engineer:


What you will do


The NA Product Regulations Engineer analyzes, summarizes and communicates new Product Regulations requirements affecting Products or their technical related standards for their impact consideration in current Product Portfolio and in new Products development in JCH-ES and in Global Design.


How you will do it

  • Capable to read, analyze and extract the main contents on a Product Regulation and their related technical standards. Product regulatory scope will be mainly EU and NA (UL and ETL), but not only.
  • Report and inform affected JCH factories and engineering accordingly
  • Be open to propose easier solutions to solve regulatory affairs as far as possible
  • Folllow up (at high level) the implementation of the necessary actions on Products to meet new Product Regulations and their standards
  • Support Engineering and Product Manager teams when defining Market requests on new product needs in terms of Product Regulations
  • Support other JCH-ES departmnets and other JCH entities about the Regulations and standards understanding
  • Represent JCH in regulatory forums when necessary, both virtual and face to face if requested

What we are looking for
Electrical or Mechanical Engineer (other Engineering could be considered depending on job experience)

Good English knowledge is mandatory

Experience (>3 years) is highly appreciated but not limited

Knowledge of European and North America regulations (UL and ETL)

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work independently
