Mission:

We are looking for a talented student to join the Molecular and Cell Biology team within Almirall Research Department for a one-year internship.

During this time, the intern will contribute to the evaluation of small molecules in cellular systems aiming to identify potential drugs for autoimmune and inflammatory skin diseases.

Thereby, the student will not only gain profound knowledge in assay development, also about early drug discovery programs in pharmaceutical companies and what is required to move a potential therapy approach forward.


Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate and provide support in the development and execution of different in vitro assays reporting on cellular signaling, protein or mRNA quantification and posttranslational modifications which are essential for research programs.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present the obtained data efficiently.
  • Interact fluidly with other members of the department to share information and results that allow the evolution of the project.

Education:


  • Bachelor or master studies in Immunology, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Biology or similar

Skills:


  • Experimental background in human cell culture and cellular assays (cell seeding, cell treatment as well as fluorescence and luminescence assays)
  • Theoretical and experimental background with basic molecular biology techniques (immunoblotting, qPCR, ELISA).
  • Experience in flow cytometry would be a plus.
  • Experience in primary cell culture and immune cell isolation would be a plus.
  • Team player with ability to communicate effectively
