We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Sr.

Thermal Engineer responsible for the thermal architecture, design, analysis, and validation of thermal technologies within networking, server and data storage solutions.

Operating under the Submer Immersion Center of Excellence (ICE) Team.


This role is key in the technical acceleration of the liquid cooling ecosystem, by driving the design and runway of the technology together with silicon, server and networking vendors.

Submer will provide support for relocation to Barcelona, where our HQ is located.

Responsibilities

You will be involved in:

  • Work on R&D and roadmap support of silicon and server vendors to develop and validate thermal solutions based on singlephase immersion for server platforms with respect to industry standards
  • Daytoday interaction with server, silicon, network, storage vendors and heat dissipation component manufacturers (heatsink, heatpipes, tubing and others)
  • Evaluate reliability and performance of the designs
  • Perform system and component level thermal analysis, definition, testing (including immersion test set up, thermocouple installation, automated data acquisition)
  • Thermal debugging, system optimization and documentation
  • Analyze structural and thermal aspects to ensure feasibility and specify thermal interface materials and manufacturing process
  • Identify and create new techniques to advance thermal development and validation
  • Work in close collaboration with our Taiwan R&D facility and Taiwanese ODM ecosystem

To perform in this job, you'll likely have:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Aerospace, Thermal, or Mechanical Engineering discipline is preferred
  • 8+ years experience or equivalent is desirable
  • Must have solid knowledge of thermal management hardware, heat transfer material, and cooling devices
  • Solid knowledge in general Mechanical/thermal engineering analysis, validation, documentation and communication
  • Knowledge of mechanical/thermals (cooling devices, air flow, temp, power, cooling, mechanical design) with electrical/power (power distribution, AC power types, power calculations, DC power, regulatory/safety) is a plus

  • Solid English and Chinese communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Knowledge and experience with Agile
  • Proactive, highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in a fastpaced environment
