Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning was established on October 1st, 2015 as a joint venture between Hitachi Appliances, Inc. (now Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc.) and Johnson Controls, Inc. Hitachi Appliances carved out and contributed its air conditioning business to the Joint Venture. Johnson Controls acquired a 60% stake of the carved-out business and Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc. continues as a 40% shareholder of this venture.


With this joint venture, two rich, 100-year-old cultures and histories have come together to create one exciting new company, serving our combined customers with the most diverse product portfolio in the air conditioning industry.

For our Vacarisses Plant, in Barcelona, we are looking for a:

Workshop/Manufacturing Engineer

What you will do
The workshops engineer is responsible for ensuring production lines.

As a key member of the plant leadership team he/she will be heavily involved in the daily operations of the facility, lead the manufacturing program for plant output optimization, down-time reduction, scrap reduction, process control, and material usage optimization.

He/will provide problem solving consultation, develop engineering procedures, and support for capital projects.


How you will do it

  • Designing and testing new equipment, processes, procedures and systems
  • Installing equipment
  • Troubleshooting and repairing equipment
  • Responding to breakdowns
  • Researching and implementing opportunities to make processes more efficient
  • Supervising engineering and technical staff
  • Managing budgets
  • Maintaining statistical and financial records
  • Planning and organising maintenance
  • Liaising with suppliers, customers and research and development staff.

What we are looking for
Engineering (industrial/ mechanical/electronic)

Minimum 5 years of similar experience

Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes

Knowledge of working in SAP environment

Ability to work well under pressure

Leadership skills and teamwork skills

Problem-solving skills

Excellent communication skills

High level of English
