Environmental Health & Safety Manager:

As an Environmental Health & Safety Manager you will report to the Environmental Health & Safety Country Manager.

You will lead the EHS for Valencia, ensuring that the people and location(s) are legally compliant and satisfy PPG Environmental, Health Safety procedures, standards, and processes.

This position is site based and will be required some level flexibility to travel to different locations within the country.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that
EHS legal requirements for the location are always communicated and work with the local Leadership Team to address the requirements in the most effective way.
Implement
EHS strategy within the location by developing and aligning local plans, in agreement with local Leadership Team and Corporate & Regional guidelines; provide proactive feedback to Country Manager to ensure strategy sustainability and robustness in the
long term
Ensures that Risk assessments are performed for each business, tasks and disciplines, (at work Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics), updated as needed on time and in full and to propose & support, as appropriate, risk reductions initiatives.
Ensures accidents are reported and investigation analysis conducted timely and prepares or supervises preparation of reports and recommends corrective actions.
Develops a reporting culture for near misses and safety observations/audits within the organization to identify and control significant loss producing exposure.
Identifies appropriate EHS training needs and ensure effective roll out in partnership with the business.
Coordinates and health programs
Implements annual EHS goals as agreed with the EMEA Mgr. and aligned to Global, EMEA and sitespecific needs.
Ensures regular communication and engagement with Net of EHS contacts and local Leadership Team, participate in local decisionmaking and support local needs in agreement with Location Manager and EHS Country Manager
Define and maintain core EHS
resourcing needs for the location and requests support to EHS Country Manager according to business needs and partners.
Identify needs, propose, and get approval for
EHS local budget, and manage it accordingly in full understanding of Site Leadership Team and Country guidelines.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Environment field, chemistry, engineering, or related science with relevant experience.
Indepth knowledge of occupational health and safety and environmental regulations
Working knowledge of key metrics, key drivers, business vision, and manufacturing processes/challenges as applicable.
Minimum 3+ years' experience in similar role.
Proficient English
