Storage Business Analyst Spain - (M/F/d):

BayWa r.e. Projects España S.L.U. - a wholly-owned subsidiary of BayWa r.e.

AG - is responsible for the development, structuring and execution of utility-scale wind and solar energy projects in Spain & Portugal.

Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our team in Spain and are currently looking for a Storage Business Analyst to join our BESS & Green Hydrogen Department

The aim of this role is to analyze the Energy Storage Solutions in support of the Project Development and Route-to-Market teams.

The role requires someone with a deep understanding of Battery technologies, Grid Operational Procedures and OMIE Energy Market.

This position would be based in our company ́s Spanish head office in Madrid, however 100% remote working is enabled.

What You Will Do:

Optimize the relative sizing of an Energy Storage Systems based on Electrochemical Batteries coupled with Renewable Generation or of Stand-Alone Systems within the MIBEL.
Complete the Modelling, Scenario and Sensitivity Case Analysis to support Investment decisions.
System Optimization of design parameters such as: Stackup of Revenues, System Size (Power & Energy), Depth of discharge, State of Charge, Technology type, of the ESS.
Evaluate impact on the Business Model for ESS of different

Business Cases:
Capacity Market (draft), Wholesale, private Power Purchase Agreements.

Support the Project Development Teams on the Financial Analysis and RoutetoMarket strategy.
Support on Business Intelligence, followup on new Regulations, norms and applicable standards.

What You Bring:

Academic degree in a relevant field of Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Renewable Energies), Mathematics or Statistics. Other degrees are valued if experience matches the profile requirements.
Minimum of 25 years working experience in the relevant business field (e.g., energy trading, PPA, energy consultancy).
In depth Technical and Commercial understanding of Energy Trading, Regulatory and Operational Modes affecting the Energy Markets and Grid Services; and Financial Concepts.
Strong analytic mindset and high numerical literacy including Excel VBA and programming skills (e.g. Python, GAMS or Matlab). User of Fractal, Odyssey or other Simulation Tools.
Native in Spanish and fully fluent in English.
Self-Driven, Goal Oriented mindset. Rigorous, Efficient, and mindful of business objectives.
