About the role

As Accounting team lead, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the core accounting department (including accounts payable, general ledger and technical accounting), to ultimately ensure timely, complete and accurate financial reporting.

You will report to the VP of Finance and will be a key piece of the Finance team, helping it to scale and improve its processes supporting Cobee's growth strategy.


What you will do

  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations through effective financial stewardship
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and provide insights to senior leadership
  • Lead banking relationship management and bank account management
  • Collaborate with other departments such as legal and strategic finance to ensure cross functional alignment with business objectives and to support decisionmaking.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, and other financial professionals, culminating in a timely and accurate audit process
  • Identify opportunities to automate to elevate efficiency and accuracy across the team, ensuring we remain up to date with the latest world class tech solutions in the accounting sphere, streamlining processes and removing bottlenecks.
  • Proactively look for opportunities and new ways of working to make enhancements to current processes and systems, focusing on efficiency and finance accuracy
  • Drive change management and succeed in the implementation of improved processes, technologies, tools and automations across the finance organization

This is you:


  • 35 years of experience working in a big 4 audit firm on in a similar role in startup/scaleup
  • You have solid experience in internal and external audits
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software (ERP implementation experience will be highly valued)
  • Ability to think strategically while also executing at the same time
  • You are obsessed with defining and implementing longlasting processes
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team
