    Lonza is looking for a Construction Engineer to join the Engineering Capex Projects Department. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the CAPEX program and ensuring the company's objectives and customer requirements are met.
    Key responsibilities:
    • Manage and define construction design documents and deliverables according to project specifications, considering aspects of constructability, operability, maintainability, and safety in collaboration with Technical Teams.
    • Review and prepare pipe and isometrics, Mechanical specifications, E&I specifications, Civil specifications, among others, in conjunction with Technical Team and Contractors.
    • Define project execution strategy and timings based on Project Capex Plan and site activities.
    • Oversee construction reports and communicate schedule and cost updates to Project Management.
    • Manage construction Contractors' staffing and adjust as needed in collaboration with the Project Team.
    • Initiate and conduct construction site meetings, provide necessary training to contractors, and ensure compliance with construction site conditions.
    • Participate in regular site inspections, focusing on EHS, progress, schedule aspects, and coordinate with contractors to mitigate risks during construction phases.
    • Perform technical reviews of equipment and materials when required.
    Key requirements:
    • MSc in Chemical, Industrial, or similar Engineering or BSc in Chemical, Industrial, or similar Engineering.
    • Spanish native speaker with fluent English language skills (min B2 level).
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position within Pharma & Biotech or related industry, with proven expertise.
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • Familiarity with international design standards (ASME, UNE-EN-ISO) and Spanish industrial safety and civil regulations.
    • Knowledge of pharmaceutical sanitary design and regulations such as FDA, cGMP, ASME-BPE.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D or similar software.
    • Positive, proactive, diligent, engaged, and open to dialogue individual.
