Hi

We were waiting for you

We know these are busy days for everyone and that you have plenty of options, so thank you for taking the time to read this posting

This is us, using AI to (truly) disrupt an entire industry:

Co-founded by two Stanford/Wharton alums, FounderNest is a SaaS company in stealth mode that uses AI to help innovative corporations (Innovation, CVC, and Corp Dev / M&A teams) identify their next partnership, investment, or acquisition target - before their competition.

Our core technology is built on real-time analytics running on private and public company data.

This fuels our Natural Language Processing AI with +60M companies and +1.2B aggregated data points, allowing us to minimize noise and find 1.5-5x more companies relative to alternatives.

We are proud to count amongst our clients some of the largest corporations across a wide range of industries worldwide — for example, 4 of the Top 10 Pharma companies worldwide, one of the largest management consulting firms, one of the largest biotech companies, and one of the largest food & beverage companies in the world.

This is the perfect time to join us We are exceeding our quarterly revenue targets consistently (
2x growth QoQ).

By joining FounderNest at this time, you will have the opportunity to see the impact of your work on a daily basis while you grow your career in parallel to the company's growth.

What you will do:

  • You'll be working at a productdriven company, being a key member of an empowered Product team.
  • You'll understand deeply the user and the business to be able to propose desirable outcomes that we should seek as a team.
  • You'll conceptualize solutions and product features that can help us reach the outcomes that we want. In many cases, you'll build those features from start to finish, including the
    measurement and
    analysis of their impact.
  • You'll excel at the process of conceiving, designing, implementing, shipping, and maintaining parts of the product that impact the
    user experience.
  • You'll improve the
    performance,
    reliability, and
efficiency of our systems — for example finding bottlenecks in the insights generation and optimizing them to make them more scalable.
  • You'll be uptodate with
industry trends and frequently reanalyze if we could improve our stack, tools, architecture, or processes.
  • You'll be a
key contributor to our Engineering culture and will constantly push to increase the quality level at which we operate, especially at the backend level.

The technical challenge

  • We have an awesome tech challenge, as data is at the core of FounderNest, and the way we manage it is heavily important:
  • Extract/scrape data from several sources (both structured and unstructured), like APIs, CSVs, PDFs, websites...
  • Normalize data and link records to store the most recent version of the entities.
  • Track the relationship of the corporate and the companies, and how it evolves over time, to (machine) learn from it.
  • Produce highquality insights based on the combined information of the company, the funding, the team, previous investors...

In 1 month:

  • You'll have completed the onboarding and will already know all of the team.
  • You will start to be familiar with our work methodology and the internal and external tools we use for development.
  • You will already understand most of the concepts in the industry and will have worked on a small project with a clear outcome.

In 3 months:

  • You'll already have earned the trust of all your teammates.
  • You'll have already been part of important conversations about architecture, tools, and processes.
  • You'll have already completed a successful implementation project, achieving the expected outcome, and with complete technical independence.

In 6 months:

  • You'll already be a reference within FounderNest, in all things backend.
  • You'll have completed many E2E (from conceptualization and implementation to impact measurement) projects, both user touching and internal ones, and will have succeed (and failed and retried) in getting the expected outcomes.
  • By now you will have clear areas where you would like to improve and will be leading these changes.
  • Your feedback and work will have helped greatly improve some of the company's backend processes and the quality of what we build.

Our tools and methodologies:

To deal with all these, we strive to have the highest standards in our methodologies and our Engineering and Product processes and tools:

  • We follow Agile and Lean, and we work as an empowered product team. Our job starts with the business challenge and ends when we have measured the impact we expected, usually through the functionalities we implement.
  • Our stack is heavily based on JavaScript (ES6/ES7) and TypeScript, and we also use Postgres (with TypeORM), MongoDB (with Mongoose) Docker, Metabase, Mocha / Chai, Lodash (for the functional approach)...
  • We do pair progra
