IEN: who are you and where are you based? 
Javier Camara, I’m a Spanish entrepreneur based between Madrid and New York. I’m an expert in building big data and online advertising platforms and I’m also an Internet enthusiast & have an In-depth knowledge of online businesses. 


IEN: Tell me about your relationship with Ireland? 
I love Ireland, I really enjoy visiting the country every time I go. From my point of view, the people and the places are the best of this beautiful country. I lived in Dublin and Waterford 5 summers, and some landscapes took me back to my home town. I was born in the north of Spain, and because of the similar weather they both have, there are some places that look like Ireland. Maybe it’s a nostalgic feeling. 

IEN: What is your company all about? 
beBee is an affinity-based social network. It’s designed for professionals to connect with people with whom they share common interests. Our Affinity Rank allows users to see only content that is relevant to them. Here you can get in touch with people from all around the world, with your same hobbies or career, even if you haven’t met them before. 

The concept is about groups called affinity hives that work as a social repository. Unlike every other social media networks, content exists only once on beBee. It means that when multiple users share the same content on beBee, their comments meet in one unique post, called buzz on our social network. This adds value to the original post and allows bees to connect with people that share their interests. 


IEN: How Ireland fits into your strategy? 
Ireland can be a very important place for European operations with a multicultural team (because you can find professionals from everywhere), and I also see Ireland as a good link with the United States and the UK, so, thinking about our brand strategy, Ireland is a very important place that beBee has considered in order to achieve a further expansion. We currently have 10 million users and have just launched a publishing platform the last few weeks. 


IEN: When will you be in Ireland next and maybe a final word? 
I’ve recently been in Dublin and I remember Ireland was celebrating its Easter Rising’s 100th anniversary, that was a coincidence because I didn’t know. 

Hopefully I’ll be back soon, perhaps after next summer. We’re thinking seriously that beBee may have operations in Ireland in the next months, but it will depend on how fast beBee grows in this country...
