Cómo ser más carismático

Hace poco leí que una de las principales búsquedas en Google durante el pasado año fue "Cómo ser más carismático". De hecho era la más buscada en la categoría "Cómo ser...".

Este dato nos lleva a concluir la importancia que le damos al carisma en la sociedad actual y en las relaciones tanto profesionales como personales, y la pregunta del millón es ¿se hace o se nace carismático?

Entre los "consejos" que podemos encontrar en la red para aumentar nuestro carisma tenemos los tan habituales como:

• Da la mano con decisión

• Sonríe

• Sé ingenioso

• Elogia a los que te rodean

• Mantén contacto visual con tu interlocutor

• Recuerda y repite su nombre

• Habla con confianza

• No muestres nerviosismo con tus gestos

• Ten un amplio vocabulario

• Mantén un tono de voz sin titubeos

• Y un largo sin fin de otros trucos, técnicas, claves, herramientas, etc. que te convertirán en una persona con un carisma apabullante. ;)


Allá por 1995 comencé mis clases de interpretación vocal con Carlos Infante, mi mentor durante cuatro años.

Infante siempre nos contaba que cada actor debe encontrar su falsa naturalidad, su registro desde el cual emocionar a la audiencia sin poner toda su carne en el asador.

Sin ánimo de contradecir a mi Maestro, 22 años después comprendo que la falsa naturalidad siempre será por definición falsa, y no hay nada menos carismático que la falsedad.


He conocido personas tremendamente carismáticas que sonríen poco y que elogian solo cuando realmente su corazón les pide emitir un elogio. Y quizá en esos efímeros detalles reside su fuerza y su carisma. Su autenticidad.


Reduciría toda la lista enumerada al principio de este artículo precisamente a eso: SÉ AUTÉNTICO.

Encuentra y potencia tu autenticidad, tu unicidad, tu singularidad. Que no tiene por qué ser la misma en todas las circunstancias.

Si te apetece sonreír, sonríe.

Si te apetece hablar, habla.

Si te apetece mantenerte en un segundo plano, adelante.

Siempre con educación.


Juancho Calvo, director de cine y series de televisión, y mentor mío en interpretación a cámara, me dijo en una ocasión: "Mamen, el público no quiere ver tu técnica, quiere ver tu corazón".

Y quizá ese sea el mayor "truco" para ser carismático, mostrar tu corazón con sus altibajos, sin máscaras, sin narices rojas que no te pertenecen.


No hay nada más decepcionante en un escenario que desenmascarar la técnica del actor.

Y es muy triste en el escenario de la vida descubrir a alguien sin carisma queriendo tenerlo en base a artificios que no son suyos.

That wave emerges from the hearts of the few because it flows from our own consciousness, otherwise what is the point of charisma. Charisma by itself is what drew people to Adolf Hitler but his charisma was a HEART-ATTACK and not a HEART WAVE. Renaissance is to resist charisma being used for lesser purposes or create new containers in this world for people who suckle on the certainty that it provides. A mature child is still a child and dictators try to reduce existence to simple messages and spin (brand) - do I have to show people "Donald Trump" to prove this? The personal brand President is as much a dictator as the way personal branding created him. The electricity in intelligence stems from neurons firing through electrical connection but the horrid world that was torn asunder in the 20th Century not once but twice, is still with us - we still see war, genocide, the subjugation of women, the disrespect of elders, the disfranchisement of children, the disparaging of disability, the shaming of human beings, all of that stems from some kind of branded message and not the human voice. It cannot be the human voice because these things are inhuman. Just as electricity can be drawn from nuclear power instead of being used as nuclear bombs, so it is the HEART WAVE that charisma produces negates the HEART ATTACK. Empathy alone is just a feeling, renaissance is much more. The way I choose to find renaissance is through the freedom of attaining personal life. A HEART WAVE is a true heart because it is an awakened being.

Gracias Ana-Mar\u00eda Ll\u00e1cer S\u00e1nchez!! No se me había ocurrido buscar la definición. Al final, como bien dices, es cuestión de ser uno mismo. En cuanto a lo que comenta C\u00e8lia Hil, yo lo veo como una cuestión cultural, social, dependiendo de la sociedad en la que vivas habrá detalles que te ayuden a ser carismático y otros que consigan el efecto contrario. Ese listado de supuestas cosas que hacer para ser más carismático es solo aplicable para las sociedades occidentales. En las culturas orientales los códigos de relaciones personales son muy distintos.

Por lo poquito que nos conocemos, a mí me parece que tú tienes un carisma muy particular, muy tuyo, y eso es muy de agradecer. Desde tu sentido del humor, tu porte, tu seriedad, tu sinceridad. Tienes tu propia Marca Personal, e intransferible. Yo creo que tienes mucho más carisma del que crees... Jajajaja!!! Se me ocurre una cosa: si me dieran a leer varios comentarios sin saber a qué autor pertenece cada uno, creo que sería capaz de reconocer el tuyo de inmediato. Tienes tu sello personal, y para mí eso es carismático. 😉

Incluyes C\u00e8lia Hil otro detalle importantísimo, el carisma es cultural. Dependiendo de en qué tipo de sociedad vivas, habrás detalles que sean más carismáticos que otros. Me encantas lo que cuentas de las neuronas espejo, yo misma lo hago y lo propongo en mi taller sobre respiración: fíjate en cómo respiran las personas que te inspiran e imita su patrón de respiración. La respiración crea emociones, y podemos incidir sobre ella. Gracias cielo por comentar!!

Uauhhh... Conozco personas de los dos tipos que comentas Carmen, y en el segundo caso suelen tener un halo de timidez que a mí personalmente me derrite. Nada que ver con el carisma abierto y espontáneo, pero terriblemente arrebatador (al menos para mí). Gracias por tu comentario, expones a la perfección lo que intentaba explicar en el artículo sobre las cualidades de cada cual. Vaya, me encanta esto que dices Vega \ud83d\udc1d G\u00f3mez Hern\u00e1ndez: "Y luego gustarás más o menos, pero te reconocerán por lo que eres". Porque yo misma todavía a veces caigo en ese insondable abismo de querer agradar a todo el mundo, supongo que es un reflejo educacional. Sin duda la empatía es uno de los componentes más importantes del carisma, y te ayuda a conectar con las personas. Quizá la primera conexión que debemos cuidar y fomentar es la que tenemos con nosotros mismos, encontrar nuestra manera (cada cual la suya) de comunicarnos y de regalar nuestro tiempo a los demás.
