For now, yes, there’s still a good amount of prestige in seeing your work published on a big site like the Huffington Post, Inc, Entrepreneur, VentureBeat, TechCrunch, Virgin, Forbes, etc 

Professionals will still think it’s impressive if you use them in your portfolio, and you can still link directly to your posts even if they don’t show up in search.

Just don’t use these sites as a way of building links, or part of your guest blogging campaign, as there is no longer any “link juice” or authority as a contributor.

Javier \ud83d\udc1d beBeeMy biggest reward for being a beBee blogger is the great exchange of comments. It is the interest that bees show to the blogger resulting in the birth of more buzz ideas. I would say 50% of my more than 160 buzzes on resulted from the inspirations of engaging comments. Nowhere else I experienced the same. My last buzz on authenticity has so far 400 views, but more than twenty comments. This is the level of engagement that make an author grow. BTW- to what degree is beBee authentic? I hope not 100% and I stand against full authenticity.

Thank you, Javier, for this informative and educational read about blogging. That's a very helpful list to have for the various publications. Moreover, I like your 21 points about the benefits of blogging. One more thing I would add as a cautionary note regarding blogging on a major platform, such as the ones mentioned above, is just make sure that you will not get into any hot water with your employer or co-workers. That certainly depends which type of employer one works for, such as private sector or public sector. Also, always make it clear that you are expressing your own personal views and not that of your employer. Some companies and some corporate communications divisions are more sensitive to this than others. Thus, it makes good sense to keep these factors in mind so your day job is not inadvertently jeopardized. Thanks again for this brilliant buzz!
