Ferrovial Energy Solutions was recently created to develop the Energy business in Ferrovial Construcción within the Horizon 24 strategic framework, and currently integrates T&I activities, Renewable Generation and Energy Efficiency projects.

It is currently present in Spain, USA, Portugal and Chile, but with the intention of being present in all key geographies for Ferrovial Construction.

Description:


The Quality Control Manager ensures the standards of a solar and wind installation, meet quality and efficiencies set by the company.

Serve as quality inspector or assist in overseeing construction inspection activities for very large and complex projects. Inspects construction methods and workmanship to ensure contractors work is in in accordance with plans and specifications. Documents the work; Leads or can lead the work of technical and certified employees.

Work requires contact with stakeholders, Clients, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors and manufacturers as required to perform the work.

Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details. May be asked to train others.

Regular Job duties

  • Develop and implement Project Construction Quality Plan to meet project specific requirements, including quality control audits, inspecting installations at various stages, and writing reports documenting trends
  • Set and enforce standards for quality and safety during work operations, ensuring Benchmarks and Inspection Forms are prepared for each work scope
  • Train and management of project QC inspections and documentation to verify compliance with the Construction Quality Plan. Train project personnel to perform QC inspections
  • Ensure legal obligations are followed and ensure compliance with contract, regulatory bodies, and safety guidelines
  • Review suppliers and subcontractor's quality programs
  • Develop work instructions to ensure that quality control processes are in place for each key activity performed on site
  • Works on a construction site/s and is in the field with construction crews observing the work
  • Document findings, evaluations, and inspections using Company prescribed procedures and software
  • Collect, compile, and analyze relevant quality statistical data to obtain information regarding installation quality performance
  • Maintain proper records of quality audits, procedures, and standards
  • Assists with protocols, qualifications and prescribed validation procedures and documentation
  • Performs system verifications on completed systems to assure correct installation per contract design specifications
  • Documents, analyzes, and reports performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies
  • Supports impact assessments to identify, assess, and reduce the organization's environmental risks and financial costs, at the direction of the environmental team and procedures
  • Maintains knowledge of Company's values and strategic plan
  • Train and management of project QC inspections and documentation to verify compliance with the Construction Quality Plan. Train project personnel to perform QC inspections
  • Proffer recommendations to company management on ways to improve on existing quality processes
  • Perform additional assignments per management's direction
  • Interprets applicable plans, specifications, prepares estimates, reviews, and addresses compliance requirements
  • Communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups
  • Lead Quality Meetings with project stakeholders. Can deal with project management, engineers, suppliers, testing labs concerning site issues, inconsistencies, and nonconformities
  • Adheres to and assist in monitoring of site safety policies
Education, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 5+ year related experience preferred
  • Quality experience on Solar/Wind/Utility construction projects or other industrial/heavy civil projects with similar features of work
  • Inspection certifications a plus
  • Experience with Procore a plus
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with strong observational, analytical, and problemsolving skills
