This is our role job title for those who want to turn ideas into reality using code, algorithms, and maybe a bit of magic.


Tasks in the role:


Engineering management:

  • Be a key stakeholder for your subordinates in creating a technical strategy. Monitor the quality of strategy execution.
  • Control Product Tech Reports (SLI/SLO, Uptime, etc.).
  • Manage and monitor the volume of technical debt for all the products and ensure their timely resolution.
  • Control incident handling execution.

People management:

  • Management of development teams' technical owners.
  • Management and control of the hiring process.
  • Monitoring the motivation and development of employees.
  • Control over giving feedback and dismissal of employees.
  • Management of budgets and revision of salaries.

Project management:

  • Participating in technical projects to improve products or fix major technical problems.
  • Organizing engineers' work by technical work coordination, team synchronization, and time management. Defining functional and nonfunctional requirements, solving technical issues, and determining the target architecture of the final solution.

Engineering culture:

  • Creating expert groups and providing them with an environment in which they can identify common problems, implement solutions for them, and boost the overall skill level of engineers.

Who we are looking for:


  • 3+ years of experience leading multiple new software products with crossfunctional teams.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes.
  • Strong project management skills. You should be a strategic thinker and a datadriven decisionmaker.
  • Understanding how to manage product architecture and make engineering decisions regarding technical and product strategy.
  • Communication skills.

This direction is responsible for the products that have historically been the backbone of Semrush. These are products used by SEO specialists.

Our SEO toolkit is the most complete and high-quality on the market and helps specialists at any stage of search engine optimization.
