Responsibilities:


Hines Spain started operations in 1996 in Barcelona and in 2001 in Madrid with the aim of sourcing and managing high quality investment opportunities in Madrid and Barcelona for Hines' discretionary vehicles and other investment partners.

The Spanish platform currently manages a diversified portfolio of more than €1 billion of high-quality assets located in Madrid and Barcelona.

Hines Spain is looking to hire a Business Development Director for Iberia. Ancillary responsibilities may include support the analysis and execution of on-going and new investment opportunities. The role is based in Madrid, reporting directly to the Director of Acquisitions.

  • Proactively identify and target potential deals in a wide scope of asset types according to Hines flagship Funds and JV partners requirements.
  • Identify and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Responsible, with the support of junior resources, for financial modelling, market analysis and preparation of business plans with the aim of analysing and underwriting investment opportunities.
  • Preparing together with the team investment memorandum and recommendations (covering key issues from DD to IC) for US and London Senior Management, ensuring the compliance with the company organization, procedure and guide lines.
  • Leading/coordinating DDs activities (typically: legal, town planning, tax, structuring, technical and environmental) and managing external advisors with the aim of having all parties involved (i.e. Hines Italy team and external service providers) productively working together and timely delivering the relevant findings and reports.
  • Working directly with seniorlevel counterparts (mainly thirdparty consultants and Seller' s advisors/consultants) in timely executing the transaction with minimum guidance (including, inter alia, review and negotiation of transaction documents such as offers, SPAs, indemnity agreements, etc).
  • Working closely with the Finance Team on identifying and setting
- up new investment structures (including real estate funds, club deals and joint ventures) and on new financings.

  • Working closely with the Asset and Property Management department for the handover of finalized investments.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements include:

  • Highly numerate with a strong skillset in representing the concepts of real estate investment accurately and efficiently in Excel form.
  • Language skills: Spanish mother tongue preferably and excellent communication skills with confident fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to relate well to other people at all levels, internally and externally. Culturally sensitive. Display passion and energy, creating a positive working environment.
  • Proactive, selfmotivated, and adept at using own initiative to be most effective.
  • Exceptional confidence, independence, and interest in working in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to find creative ways to solve complex situations through structuring.
