Our Opportunity


We are seeking a Data & BI Senior Service manager to join our global Data & Business Intelligence department within Group Technology & Operations (GTO) focusing on Commercial insurance & Underwriting data products and services.


You will join our multidisciplinary Data Solution Management ('DBI Engagement Hub') team contributing to build and maintain solid, stable, and financially sound data products with a value creation mindset.


You will proactively manage relationships and communications with business adopting the new operating model design for customer centricity contributing at the DBI transformation driving the Zurich data strategy (group-wide).


Your role

As a Senior Service Manager, your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Own the service delivery to the customer within the DevOps team, continuously collaborating with the business product owner and the project director on prioritizing the backlog based on business value, requested timelines and dependencies
  • Ensures service levels & performance to different business stakeholders proactively taking action to address issues and gaps with the business.
  • Collaborate with other DBI teams to ensure the operational aspects of a solution are considered, with in a DevOps and Agile framework and mindset.
  • Proactively drive communications to the business (e.g. Incident alerts, change freezes, etc.).
  • Takes accountability of the quality of the service owning the customer satisfaction and service improvement programs, as well as escalation and complaint management
  • Manage the Project handover process into operations and approve operational readiness for projects and releases
  • Engage in major incident management and problem management.
  • Proactively drive the Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) as well as Automation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate internal control and regulatory requirements for both internal and external suppliers, provide assistance and support for audits, where applicable
  • Owns the DBI finance transparency facing BUs and Group Functions with proper monitoring and controls of the Service Delivery budget and actual costs in collaboration with all key stakeholders.

Your skills and experience

As a Senior Service Manager, your skills and experience will ideally include:

  • University level education or equivalent
  • Over 810 relevant years of experience
  • Prior experience working in Information technologies, finance services, preferably insurance (Actuarial/Underwriting)
  • Knowledge of Data Analytics, BI tools and Cloud (Azure, AWS) with functional and technical background
  • Solid understanding of ITIL processes
  • Incident and Request Management, Change Management (e.g.
ITIL)

  • Agile tools and methodologies: Atlassian tooling, DevOps, lean, SAFE or Scrum
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work effectively at a fully collaborative environment being part of a global organization across different geographies, under time pressure and to manage ambiguity
