Role Purpose:

To set, implement and achieve underwriting profit goals in accordance with business plan.

To ensure underwriting integrity through appropriate deployment of underwriting guidelines and controls, consistency of approach towards risk selection, pricing, and the correct use of capacity whilst recognising market conditions.


The position will be based in Barcelona and will be able to handle brokers from different territories, so their physical presence in these areas will be necessary, through regular trips outside the office.


The position will have special focus in generation of New Business, creation of good relationship with key Brokers that will translate in new business growth and profitable.

It will be highly appreciated if the person had Lise Science knowledge and ability to manage multinational accounts.


Key Responsibilities:


In coordination with the Casualty Manager and Sales and Distribution, define and build a profitable New Business underwriting strategy, forecast.

To represent and promote Chubb to brokers increasing Chubb market visibility for MM and SME.

Have a clear targeting and define a visit plan to brokers.

Proactive pipeline Management

Maximise cross selling in collaboration with other lines of business.


Work closely with Business Development Managers to ensure we optimise all new business opportunities, and we reinforce our brand within the broker community in all territories but with special attention in Levante and Cataluña.

Work within the framework of Chubb service standards, meeting company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframe for quoting new and renewal business and compliance issues

Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan.

Comply with all policies, controls, authorities, and reporting requirements.


Qualifications:


Knowledge and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economic or similar studies.

Proficiency level in English and Spanish, highly valued Catalan and Portuguese.

At least 5 years' experience as Casualty Underwriter with skills & knowledge to manage domestic and multinational accounts.


Advance user of Microsoft office:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Used to work in a multinational company is desirable.

Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the product line, the Spanish insurance market and Competitors.

Solid experience of dealing with brokers and clients. Ability to negotiate and get profitable business in accordance with company UW guidelines


Results driven with ability to make own decisions within the scope of technical underwriting guides and developed strategy line and work on own initiative.

Self-motivated, positive, driven dynamic and sales focused individual.

Excellent communication and commercial skills.

Team worker.

High level of ethical working standards.
