Register/Curatorial Administrator to join SEALIFE Benalmadena.

At SEALIFE Benalmadena, you will step beneath the waves and get closer than ever before to the creatures and features of the world's oceans including black tip reef sharks, turtles, Moon Jellyfish, Sea Horses, Asian Short Clawed Otters, Rays, Octopus and Clown Fish to name a few


About the Role


This is an exciting new role where you will procure and maintain high standards of welfare in all animal care tasks by maintaining accurate and meaningful records in compliance with zoo licences, BAALI and zoological core accreditation requirements.


You will provide administrative support to the head of the department to ensure that the online species registration system (OERCA) is correct and up to date at all times whilst also supporting our curator in the preparation and review of risk assessments and review internal protocols and procedures.


As our
Register/Curatorial Administrator you will be focused on the administrative support of the department in terms of data maintenance and recording, budget management and logistics, in addition to continuing to develop our conservation and research objectives through the management of student interns and collaboration with other institutions.

This is a full-time permanent role working five days from seven.

Due to the unique nature of our business, flexibility will be required to support our operational teams at weekends and on bank holidays on a rota basis.


About You

  • Can you speak and write in both Spanish and English at a high level, have a confident and positive attitude with a passion for animals?
  • Do you have previous experience in the logistics and operations of a zoological nucleus?
  • Do you have a degree in Sea Sciences?
  • Have knowledge and understanding of current zoo legislation and operational requirements for transporting animals.
  • Have excellent organizational and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in office automation, particularly Excel and database.
  • Previous experience with OERCA or similar would be desirable.
  • Good time management to thrive in a highpaced environment.
