Position
Summary:

The Sr.

Commercial Manager will play a critical role in our rapidly growing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) team and our expansion within EMEA.

The Sr. Commercial Manager will own and lead the RFP & competitive bid processes, the negotiation of contracts with


contractors & suppliers, conduct cost analysis, and making strategic product decisions for projects ranging in scope and complexity for assigned projects.


Primary
Responsibilities:


  • Own and lead the RFP response and competitive bid processes for projects within EMEA, analyzing commercial and legal aspects of Customer RFPs to develop a competitive submission to continue to grow the execution pipeline.
  • Lead the Customer and subcontractor contract negotiation phase for equipment, services, and EPC contracts by collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Develop key requirements for RFPs to subcontractors and evaluate the bid results.
  • Responsible for bid analysis and modeling to support the strategic procurement process.
  • Work with supply chain to capture competitive intelligence and generate insights on supply chain and BESS landscape.
  • Interacts with external parties including Customers, vendors, and potential suppliers.
  • Actively identify opportunities to improve business processes and support the implementation of such.
  • Ensure the organization's internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained.
  • Provide contract support to the Project's team during contract execution.

Qualifications
&
Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in either Business, Engineering, Management, Finance, or Economics or related field degree.
  • Commercial contract negotiation and RFPs management experience for equipment supply in the energy sector.
  • Proficient at aggregating and understanding and responding to requirements and information as part of the RFP process.
  • Proven experience in partnering with internal and external stakeholders to optimize a response and the decisionmaking process.
  • Fluent in English in speaking and writing. Fluency in Spanish / German is favorable.
  • Enthusiasm for working with Customers and suppliers.
  • Strong "intrapreneurial" mindset for process analysis, problem solving and strategy development skills.
  • Ability to take critical decisions in the face of limited or conflicting data and under time pressure.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work intensively during negotiation periods.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence with executive level presentations
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills and proven leadership skills in virtual project teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex activities simultaneously.
  • Dedicated to details while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
