Location (s): Essen/Bonn/Aachen area.

Note that and extensive induction and on the job training will be delivered in Spain, Germany (Stuttgart area) and Czech Republic up until the trains arrive in Essen and Bonn (April 2024).

Key Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Commissioning department in Spain, the Commissioning Engineer manages the technical, quality and engineering related issues that may arise during the planning and execution of the testing & commissioning phase of the projects.

The position is a key interfacing role to coordinate and manage interactions between the client and the different internal CAF departments/functions in Spain (predominantly the Testing and Final Assembly departments).

Responsibilities as follows:
To Produce and Define the testing and commissioning programme strategy jointly with the Programme Testing Team.

Attend meetings with client in order to collect its requests and coordinate CAF's team's response

Lead the establishment of the overall success criteria for the testing & commissioning phase of the projects, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.

Coordinates the integration of testing & commissioning work streams - including resolution of key interface issues

Collect all the needs of external resources from the different departments involved in the Testing&Commissioning phase and procure or request to the customer these resources.

Coordinate the technical, quality and engineering related issues that arise during the testing & commissioning process

Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, to ensure all work and actions undertaken are fully compliant at all times.

Ensure the successful acceptance of the trains by the customer according to the project schedule.
- quality checks to ensure, where relevant, product meets quality and safety standards.

Look for new improvement opportunities, to be able to think out of the box to achieve the best results for CAF.

We are looking for people who master English (Spanish is also highly appreciated) and German, have a degree in mechanical, electrical, telecommunications or industrial engineering with experience in the railway, aviation or automotive industry.

Additionally, when it comes to soft skills, a motivating team player with strong organizational, line management and problem-solving skills would complete the profile we are looking for.
