Position Overview
As a Manager, International Development at Invenergy, you will manage the development of utility scale renewables and energy storage, and infrastructure projects in Spain.
Responsibilities:
- Initiate and manage efforts to bring new deals for the company in Spain and potentially assist in new markets in the EMEA region.
- Review, with the support from Legal and Finance, contracts and financial models.
- Manage permitting efforts for development of new renewable, energy storage, and energy related infrastructure greenfield projects, and/or advance existing developments.
- Engage, procure, manage, and administer consultant contracts as needed for assigned development projects.
- Represent Invenergy and engage with local customers, landowners, joint venture partners, associations, officials and other stakeholders where appropriate.
- Develop, communicate, and implement strategy around, initiating, and managing generation interconnection activities.
- Facilitate and coordinate project modeling, marketing, design, budgeting and scheduling for assigned projects.
- Manage a wide variety of competing tasks according to various budget and schedule constraints, including coordinating internal and external technical support.
- Draft and submit regular daily and periodic project status reports for management review.
- Create and support corporate investment committee presentations for key development approvals when requested.
- Experience developing utilityscale wind / solar, energy storage, or other energy infrastructure projects in Spain market of over 50 MW capacity or EUR50m investment.
- Successful progression of generation projects to financial close.
- Knowledge and experience with managing permitting, interconnection, and local approvals processes.
- Strong understanding of planning, engineering, construction, commissioning, and testing practices necessary to achieve commercial operation.
- Track record of delivering to budget and program.
- Experience of managing project economics and problem solving.
- Landowner management, land option and lease negotiation.
- Management of engineering teams, including consultant contracts.
- Stakeholder engagement including, political, local persons and interest groups.
- Demonstrable relationships within energy industry.
- Exemplary oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strong inclination toward team working.
- Ability to work across a number of projects/workstreams with multicultural teams.
