Purpose Statement


As part of Marketing Excellence EMEA, the Integrated Marketing Communication Specialist (IMC) contributes to delivering excellence in customer experience and omnichannel marketing.

The IMC EMEA Team develops and implements integrated communication campaigns, blending expertise in branding, content strategy, and copywriting to engage customers with relevant and meaningful content along the customer journey and to strengthen the Boston Scientific brand.


The IMC Manager Endoscopy EMEA reports to Maria Aunola, Head of IMC EMEA, and joins a passionate, collaborative, and creative team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the divisional Integrated Marketing Communications EMEA team. Create comprehensive and robust talent acquisition, development, and retention plans. Ensure that employees receive ongoing feedback, mentoring, training, and development opportunities.
  • Lead the development of the annual Marketing Excellence plan in support of divisional business objectives.
  • Develop content marketing strategies for divisional franchises with clear deliverables, milestones, accountabilities, and measures of success that are needed to accomplish business objectives and inform future projects.
  • Partner with the omnichannel and product marketing teams and other stakeholders to deliver relevant content throughout the customer journeys for online and offline touchpoints. This may include healthcare professional (HCP), referrer, and patient campaigns on products and technologies, solutions and services, therapies, clinical data, tradeshows, and customer events.
  • Master the translation of value propositions into stories through compelling storytelling.
  • Oversee existing portfolio of content and create new content where there are gaps and opportunities.
  • Manage creative, copywriting, and translation vendors, in compliance with Boston Scientific's policies.
  • Lead creative and designs, in line with Boston Scientific's brand standards, and act as brand ambassador.
  • Ensure that operating models, processes, tools and technologies are applied along the content lifecycle.
  • Manage the budget.
  • Establish KPIs and lead functional reporting and recommendations to the business.
  • Model successful collaboration with key partners in EMEA and Global Integrated Marketing Communications and drive excellence in creating synergies, crossfertilization, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Key Requirements

  • Senior level: 57 years of experience in Integrated Marketing Communications (B2B or B2C).
  • A seasoned, experienced professional with wideranging experience and expertise in a specialized field.
  • Experience in developing and deploying successful content strategies for marketing communications campaigns or programs.
  • Solid experience in people management.
  • Experience in developing a collaborative team environment which promotes the free flow of communication and information throughout the organization.
  • Proven excellent communication skills with the ability to think strategically.
  • Build and broaden strategic relationships with stakeholders and key influencers; facilitate networking of team members; bring together diverse perspectives to improve results.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels by challenging others' views whilst maintaining and leveraging collaborative relationships.
  • Model and promote collaboration and work effectively with others across the organization to achieve goals and global opportunities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or another relevant field
  • Fluency in English
  • Preferred MedTech experience
  • Planning, prioritizing, executing and monitoring projects and activities to achieve specified outcomes within a clearly defined timeframe, standard and budget.
  • Leverage knowledge and best practices, fresh perspectives, breakthrough ideas, and continuous improvement to create value. Encourages new ways of looking at problems, processes, and solutions.
  • Experience in content marketing strategies and creating, communicating, and executing marketing communication programs.
