Job Description:

Madrid, Valencia (flexible)

As a Senior Project Development Manager, you will focus on opportunities for large-scale PV development in Spain. You will be responsible for growing the company's development pipeline and supporting the financial closing process.


You're perfect for this role if you have achieved at least a Ready to Build (RtB) Solar PV project in the past.

This position has a key role in the project development process from greenfield all the way through construction in Spain, including budget and people management skills.

A thorough understanding of the development process is required, including land prospecting and grid availability research.


Key responsibilities that you will be managing:

  • Identifying Project opportunities to grow the pipeline
  • Prospecting large sites for groundmounted PV projects
  • Managing the permitting process for secured projects
  • Research grid status and availability and liaise with DNOs
  • Negotiating land agreements
  • Negotiating subcontractor roles, responsibilities and contracts
  • Negotiating key development project contracts
  • Analyzing and reviewing commercial viability based on projects' technical design and costing
  • Market research and developing an indepth knowledge of local market legislation, regulations, etc.
  • Managing local landfinder partners
  • Internal pipeline management and reporting
  • Financial analysis of opportunities
  • Presenting projects to the internal investment committee
  • Defining development budgets
  • Managing costs and cash flow within the development budget
  • PPA negotiations

Qualifications:


  • Solid experience in the development and process of Solar projects in Spain, preferable to have achieved a RtB for solar projects in the past (including site control, securing interconnection, permitting process, etc.). Good knowledge of associated business development costs.
  • A good understanding of all parts of the Renewable Industry, including the PV development cycle, is essential and experience with negotiating agreements and contracts is highly desirable.
  • Experience in project management and business development, a track record when it comes to delivery and contractual negotiation and closing are vital for this role.
  • You will ideally have worked as either a wind or solar developer and have seen a number of distributed generation schemes from greenfield through permitting, financial close and into operation.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Spain.
